This causes headaches, neck and shoulder pain as well as tension even nerve pain in to arms, hands and chest. How did I get it? Long periods of sitting, such as at your desk and in the car- even breastfeeding and carrying a baby but most commonly from being on your smart phone/ipads for extended time. Tips for prevention Stretching tight muscles in the chest and strengthening weak muscles to improve posture- such as in Pilates or having a prescribed exercise program and regular Remedial Massage and Myotherapy How Remedial Massage & Myotherapy helps Remedial Massage & Myotherapy help by decreasing tension, pain and trigger points in tight muscles- focusing on the upper trapezius (Traps), sternocleidomastoids (SCM), Levator scapulae, and Pectorial muscles. By using soft tissue techniques and stretching so that muscles can return to correct functioning position. From there we can then help improve posture through strengthening weak muscles.
